Our 1st Year Div 6 Team travelled to Dalky, in hopes of securing an underdog victory. A very strong start against Dalky kept them in the game until the 10th minute when Dalky finally broke through to score. Boyne rallied and fought back and a charge on goal ended with our left-mid finding the net to level the score at half time. With all to play for both team, the action packed game continued and both teams battled throughout 2nd half, with the Boyne goalie kept busy and making some impossible saves. Boyne conceded umpteen short corners and frees but their defence held every time. Then, a clearance from the Boyne defence allowed a charge up the middle of the field by the Boyne centre mid, who put it in the Dalky goal to put Boyne ahead. The crowd erupted. The momentum was with Boyne. The battle continued to the final seconds. With a nail biting short corner in the final seconds of the game to defend against, Boyne held on to win and move onto the finals.
